Can you please add the words KICK and SUD to your dictionary? I tried both words in recent games and was denied!
Thanks for a great game,
David aka n4blue
I was testing last night and also noticed Kick wasn’t working in a board. We will fix that! Sud on the other hand is a proper noun and that doesn’t qualify.
Sud is something that soap makes when you scrub it… Common noun.
Hi Paul,
This word is not in our lexicon. It is under considerable debate whether SUD is a word. Most English dictionaries (Merriam-Webster, Encarta World, Dictionary.com, and Scrabble’s OSPD) also do not accept SUD as the singular of SUDS. SUDS is the common noun word that I believe you are looking for (and we list it as such). Only the OED (Oxford English Dictionary) accepts SUD as the singular of SUDS, but their etymology was marked “uncertain” and they listed no citations. We arbitrate valid words in our lexicon through a quorum of dictionaries and individuals and we feel comfortable with it being excluded from our lexicon at this time. Thanks for the comment!
Jason
Some of my friends have a lot more stats in the leaderboards than I do. I don’t see highest rank or top 10 finishes.
I tried reinstalling the game (maybe i missed an update) but still none. How come there is a difference?
You have to play a sufficient number of games to get the full set of stats. If you tell me you screen name, I can investigate this for you. Please e-mail us: wordament@live.com. Thanks!
I tried Arab and Arabic and neither was in the dictionary.
Thanks for sharing this. We don’t accept proper nouns: capitalized words like names, places, or countries. There are lots of words that “look like” proper nouns, but have non-proper definitions: like boston and texas (card games) or swede (a white turnip). That’s why your words were also not accepted.
Haha yeah, proper nouns don’t count. I found a game once that had both “Poland” and “Finland.” Neither worked.
Fantastic game!!!
Do u guys work for Microsoft ?
Hi there,
Thanks for the comment. Yes, my partner “john” and I (“Black Snapper”) are Program Managers in the Windows Live Division.
Please add the word – “HEIST” to the list.
HEIST is in our lexicon and on the CRIME list. We found a puzzle this morning containing it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Love your game a lot, would like to propose another word-based game for you.
Please confirm that I can email you wordament@live.com
Hi Ram,
You can always e-mail us. We love conversing with fellow players. That said, we have a LONG work list ahead on this game and others in the works, so I can’t promise we’d do anything with your suggestion. But, we love to hear feebdack and suggestions!

I read that you now have a Win8 version of the game.
on my Win8 beta version.
Is it available for us to download?
Would like to replace Word Hunt
The Windows 8 version is not publically available yet. We are aiming to launch with the Windows 8 Store.
when a spanish version of wordament?, this is a really great and smart game and though i know some english enought to play it there are lots of words i dont see ingame, so i wonder why not in spanish?
¿para cuando una version en español de wordament?, es un juego fantastico y aunque mi nivel ingles es lo suficientemente bueno para jugarlo, aun asi ahy muchas palabras que se me escapan en el juego, asi que por favor ¿podrian sacar una version en español?
Language support is well underway. We announced that it was coming a while back, but then hit some restarts along the way when we learned about the licensing and gameplay challenges. We will be announcing more soon. Sorry I can’t offer more specifics. We think Wordament in other languages will be great.
Is anyone reporting/having problems using Wordament with AT&T data? I was using Wordament for months on AT&T data without problem, but a few weeks ago it stopped working. Now if I try to use Wordament on cellular data I get endless “can’t connect” error messages. At the same time the phone’s other apps are using cellular data just fine. If I switch to wifi then I can connect to Wordament and play just fine, so the problem seems to be just Wordament + cellular. Is AT&T blocking the connection to wordament.net? Uninstall and re-install did not help.
Hi Chorn,
Thanks for contacting us. We are aware of a problem in >specific< areas on the AT&T 3G network. We are trying to figure out how to proceed. Can you please contact us directly: wordament@live.com. We have a procedure we'd like you to try.
I stand corrected about sud… Man, you guys knocked my pant off with your word knowledge (I only have the one).
Is there any way to change my screen name? I want to start the whole thing over…new screen name and all, but not finding that’s an option. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it kept my same screen name.
Thanks!
Hi Kristy,
Please contact us at wordament@live.com.
I just installed this yesterday on windows 8 in a virtual machine and my scores hover around 150-190. My rank is often in the 20%. Is my condition prevalent among new players or am I just retarded?
Most new players are in that range. You are also playing with a mouse instead of touch, which can slow you down a little bit. Many of our best players got there with practice and time. If you enjoy the game, you will get there too!
Hi guys, I saw your game on my friends phone.
It is awesome.
When I try to download it from market place, after the sign in page. I get the following message: “there is a problem completing your request. Try again later. Error code 800488fe”
Any suggestions?
Hi Dan,
Are you able to download any other apps?
hmmm,
I tried to download a different app and couldn’t – same problem.
Thanks!
do you have a page of all-time high scores? While playing today we (my wife, our daughter and I) jointly achieved a high score and a first position – our daughter, a teenager that she is – is our word-puncher, while all three of us are wordsmiths.
Thanks
Cleopad2
Hi,
Yes, we do have an all-time high leaderboard. From the start screen of the game, click on the leaderboard button. From the leaderboard, select best of either day or week. Also, there is a “Me” leaderboard which will give you your personal best stats of all-time.
do you have a page where all time high scores are published?
Also I think you could try giving scores in highest average per word score. As a player, we (my family) aim for fewer but longer or higher scoring words.
It sounds like you are looking for our persistent leaderboards. Click on the Top Players tile in the leaderboards and from the drop down menu you can view Average Score (all time). Hope that helps!
Hi! Great game, supremely addicted! I have a question/issue: I have had multiple games where I quit playing, came back and when my game started I only had 30 seconds or less. Is this typical behavior or is something amiss?
Thanks again for a wicked sweet time black hole!
Hi Roland, It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the game! The reason why when you quit playing and then return to only 30 seconds or less is because the game runs on a single global timer. Everyone on earth starts the game at the same time and finishes at the same time. It does not “wait” for anyone. Hope that explains it!
Hi!
I have just recently found out this game and I love it! Great way to spend time and learn some english to. But I have noticed a lot of other finnish players on the leaderboards and i think there are more to come becouse windows phones are coming more and more popular here. So is there any possibility of getting finnish language pack? I’m using windows 7.
Thank you for your time and apologies for my bad english
Hi Kalle,
We have a Finnish room now! Please try it out: http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/
Hi, the game is awesome! Are you going to add more languages? It would be nice if you add Russian =) i can give you a hand with it
Anyway thanks, this is the best multiplayer game in WP7 marketplace.
Hi Jaxson,
Russian is now ready! http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/ We would appreciate any feedback you have about the Russian edition. Best way to contact us at Wordament@microsoft.com
Make Wordament in Russian please.
Russian Wordament is now available! http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/
Hey, guys, thanks for the great app! I’ve noticed a couple of words missing in the English edition: WEIRD and DANE, which I think should be valid. Also waiting for the Russian edition beta, if it’s planned
Hi Max,
I checked our lexicon and we DO accept “weird” as a common English word, but not Dane, since it is a proper noun. The proper nouns can be tricky to figure out as there are many proper nouns like Swede and Texas, that also have non-proper noun meanings.
We are very happy to let you know that we offer a Russian room now: http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/
Please try it out and let us know what you think!
A few suggestions:
Introduce levels, i.e. each level can increase the minimum word length. As finding lots of three lettered words to get a high score is okay, but try finding real words, etc…
Show more stats, i.e. breakdown per country? Graph of your progress?
We appreciate hearing your suggestions! We are always working to improve the game, so we love getting this kind of feedback.
Please add the word WISK. It did not work. Wisk as in using a WISK to blend/beat eggs/batter, etc. Thanks!
I believe the word you want it “whisk”. Don’t feel bad though, I swipe in “wisk” all the time as well
.
Hi everyone,
Will we have Wordament in Brazilian Portuguese? I’m fascinated with the game, but I’m not very good in English. Tks.
Hi Diego,
We now support Brazilian Portuguese. Please try it out! http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/
Soothe is a word. Look it up. It needs to be added to your acceptable word list.
Hi Bri,
I checked our lexicon and we definitely accept the word “soothe”. It is listed as a common word. If you come across this not being accepted on another occasion, please let us know!
Why 2012 Hall of Fame aren’t available?
It’s so funny found itself on list …
We’ll post a 2012 Fall of Fame at the end of the year
What country does wrd stand for?
Hi Linda,
. Members of the Wordament team fly the flag when they play and also one of our best players named Disco Pidgeon who after winning a live tournament, asked to fly the flag.
WRD stands for Wordament

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your patience. We are now happy to let you know that we offer Finnish: http://wordament.com/2012/11/07/wordament-now-in-12-puzzle-languages/
Dear Makers of Wordament,
Thank you for delivering such a perfect game to the world. I would love to know though whether it’d be possible to create Polish version of wordament? Much as I love playing it in English, it’d be really nice of I could test my word finding abilities in my native language as well. Thank you once again,
Regards,
Anna
